time to write
“For a long time it had seemed to me that life was about to begin … But there was always some obstacle in the way, something to be gotten through first, some unfinished business time still to be served, a debt to be paid. Then life would begin. At last it dawned on me that these obstacles were my life.” Alfred Souza
I’ve had more than one person tell me they wanted to write a book. That they had this idea for a story, but they didn’t have time to write it.
Newsflash: time is what you make of it. So you have to create the time.
I talked with my brother this morning, who spends his lunch in a sunny corner in his office, writing a fantasy book. He has a dedicated notebook—that he made—and is happily handwriting the thing bit by bit over the past few months.
That is how books get made.
There is always an obstacle to starting a book. You just have to do it.
I just have to do it.
