a pause
Years ago, I had a therapist tell me when I got overwhelmed that it was okay to close my door at work, turn off the lights, and put my head down for a moment.
At the time, I thought she was talking impossibilities. There was no way on earth I’d ever do that. I was at work to work.
But now, many years later, I understand that pauses are important. Perspective is important. Being kind to yourself is important.
Sometimes we all need to check out for a moment or two.
Sometimes, even with this blog, I need to stop work, turn off the lights, and put my head down for a moment.
This is just a gentle reminder that we’re all human, and if you need to do that, too, it’s perfectly okay.
