Romance Reinvented.

needing a fandom

I read a series of seven books last week, one right after another, and am completely obsessed with them. The first was free, the second 99 cents, and the rest at full price. They were m/m urban fantasy romance.

I also can’t figure out why no one is talking about them. And why some reviews are all, “I couldn’t get into it.”

Like, what the actual hell? I was completely obsessed and blown away. They were some of the most creative, emotional, plot-plot-plot, OMG I did not see that coming books I’ve ever read. They were also dark (I like dark books) and just so full of STORY. They’re gritty and real and fantastical and romantic and gentle and OH HELL NO. (Also, MAJOR trigger warnings. I think chapter 13 of book 3 may haunt me for the rest of my life.)

I believe the technical term for them is, “GREAT.”

I’m thinking of becoming a patreon for the author—the first time I’ve considered seriously doing that—because I believe in her talent and storytelling ability.

But the lack of buzz is bothering me. These should be on the must-read lists. I don’t understand it at all.

I guess reading is so personal and this author maybe hasn’t found her readers yet. I hope she finds them.

Because when she does, I’m sure they’re going to be like me and buy all of the books and read them fast. And tell everyone they know about them. Until then, I guess it’s my turn to blab about them, because I’m still obsessed.
