the key is to show up

 We aren’t robots. Writing isn’t linear.

One day I find myself struggling to get any words down that feel good. Other days I have my mojo flowing and I find myself grinning as I write.

(Those are the best days.)

I think the key is to remember that none of it lasts. The tough writing days don’t last. The easy, in-the-flow writing days don’t last.

Like everything.

We just have to show up.

I’ve said many times that the world is run by the people who show up. But I also think this applies in our individual lives. Often, we just have to show up.

Sometimes things flow. Sometimes they don’t.

But we have to keep trying. And keep showing up.
